Welcome to Anthophile! As you may be wondering - what is an anthophile? An anthophile is a lover of flowers. Hello, my name is Jianna, and I identify as an anthophile. Growing up, my grandmother and mom were passionate about flowers; they surrounded our home. As a young teenager, I was out in my parents garden planting seeds and feeling proud of the results. As the years went on, I eventually moved into my own home and found myself quick to start planting and brightening up our backyard.  My passion for floral design started in the Trader Joe’s flower section. I began to spark an interest in turning flowers into unique artistic arrangements. With some inspiration and excitement, I am now taking the leap to start my own flower business, and spread my creativity through floral design with you!

A little bit about me. I am a travel nurse from New Jersey who came to work in Wilmington in September of 2023 with my great dane pup, Ronnie. We were beach bums from Ocean City, NJ, and Ronnie felt right at home when he found out we were moving to another beach! This was my first time leaving New Jersey for a long period of time, and I was apprehensive about what the future held for me. I was planning on continuing my travels out of North Carolina after my 13 week contract was up. However, after meeting people who have become my close friends and my amazing boyfriend Nick, I decided to stay in this beautiful area. Nick is a Marine Officer from San Francisco and soon after meeting we moved to Surf City which happens to be right between both of our jobs (when you know you know) :). Here, I have blossomed my niche for floral design and am still learning every day. As I mentioned, I am a nurse and work 3 days a week, therefore I am only able to operate according to my sporadic schedule (I hope to make this more convenient in the future).

Anthophile is unique in how we put thought into each bouquet’s design, colors, and flow. Our goal is to provide you with convenient, show-stopping floral arrangements that will leave you pleased.
